The Yamazaki Islay Peated Malt – 2024 Edition

A limited-edition Japanese single malt from Suntory's 2024 Tsukuriwake Selection, a series that shows how choices in ingredients, distillation and maturation change the character of Yamazaki and Hakushu.

Here Islay peat is used during malting, but the aim isn't to copy Islay Scotch. The smoke is balanced against Yamazaki's characteristic sweetness, giving a softer, more elegant style of peat. Bottled at 48% ABV, it's a fascinating choice for anyone who enjoys smoke with restraint.
