The Yamazaki Golden Promise – 2024 Edition

A limited-release single malt from Suntory's 2024 Tsukuriwake Selection that puts the focus on barley. It is made from Golden Promise, a Scottish variety first grown in the 1960s and prized by distillers for its flavour, though rarely used today.

Matured in American oak, it leans towards sweet malt, honey and vanilla, a richer, more malt-forward Yamazaki than the incense-and-spice style of the Mizunara releases. A rare chance to taste how much barley alone can shape a whisky.
