A Nordic rye with Iberian flair, this inventive release began as Stauning’s signature rye, initially matured in American virgin oak, then finished for over a year in Spanish vermouth casks. The result is a warm‑blooded, amber-hued rye with a distinctly bittersweet, herbal profile inspired by the Manhattan cocktail.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Warm orchard fruits—like apples and oranges—plus ripe plum, burnt sugar, cinnamon, roasted caramel, honeyed herbs, and light oak spice.
Palate: A rich tapestry of sweet and spicy—dried fruits, citrus peel, crushed pepper, ginger, clove, and vermouth’s bittersweet botanicals—underpinned by toffee and rye warmth.
Finish: Long, warm, and slightly tingly—lasting impressions of bittersweet vermouth, earth, spice, and clean grain.
Serving Suggestions:
Enjoy neat or over a large ice cube to reveal layered spice and fruit undertones. Also excels in premium Manhattans, Boulevardiers, or rye-forward cocktails.
