Springbank 2004 Gaja Barolo Cask 9 Year Old is a rare and characterful Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky from the historic Springbank Distillery, renowned for traditional production methods and family‑owned heritage. Distilled in 2004, this limited‑edition release sees its spirit mature first in refill bourbon barrels before being transferred to Gaja Barolo wine casks — the famed Italian red wine barrels — for the final years of ageing.

The result is a whisky that offers both Springbank’s classic maritime complexity and the elegant influence of Barolo wine casks, with rich layers of flavour and a bold, expressive profile. Bottled at cask strength with natural colour and without chill filtration, this is a whisky that appeals to collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Pale golden with weight and clarity.

Nose: Rich fruit aromas with subtle wine‑inspired notes, hints of dark berries, caramel and toasted oak, balanced by gentle Springbank signature coastal character and a touch of spice.

Palate: Full‑flavoured with layered complexity — dark fruit and Barolo‑like tannic sweetness intertwine with creamy malt, aromatic spice, and gentle smoke.

Finish: Lingering warmth, soft oak spice, subtle tannins and a dry, elegant close that reflects both wine cask influence and Springbank’s traditional style.
