Speyburn 18 Year Old is a distinguished and luxurious single malt whisky that showcases the best of Speyburn’s bright, fruit-driven house style, elevated by nearly two decades of maturation. Aged in a combination of first-fill American oak and second-fill Spanish oak casks, this limited-release expression offers remarkable depth, silky texture, and a complex balance of fruit, malt, oak, and spice. It is a sophisticated dram for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Deep gold with copper highlights.
Nose: Rich and aromatic, with vibrant notes of orange zest, honeycomb, dried tropical fruits, and vanilla cream, layered over soft oak, almonds, and gentle spice.
Palate: Full-bodied and elegant. Flavours of caramelised apples, juicy apricot, and candied orange peel are complemented by rich toffee, milk chocolate, nutmeg, and hints of cinnamon and oak char. A seamless integration of fruit, malt sweetness, and refined oak.
Finish: Long, warming, and smooth, with lingering notes of sweet spice, citrus, and gentle toasted oak.
Serving Suggestions: Best enjoyed neat in a wide-bowled glass to fully appreciate its complexity and richness. A few drops of water can reveal further layers of spice and fruit. Ideal as a celebratory dram or luxurious after-dinner whisky, and pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, rich cheeses, or caramel desserts.
