A flagship expression from South Africa’s New Wave “garagista” winemaker Donovan Rall, Rall White continues its 17th vintage in 2024. A masterful white blend of Swartland and Stellenbosch fruit—composed of 69% Chenin Blanc, 29% Verdelho, and 2% Viognier—this latest release affirms the wine's position as a hallmark of freshness, precision, and consistent quality. Each component undergoes spontaneous fermentation and is matured separately in foudre, seasoned French oak, and concrete eggs, delivering a layered, terroir-driven experience.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
A vibrant and expressive bouquet featuring lemon and citrus blossom, gentle herbal perfume, and a touch of flinty reduction.
Palate:
Textured and lively. Ripe stone fruit meets a seamless thread of crunching acidity, framed by a creamy mid-palate and dry, savoury finish. Talcum and herbal notes add sophistication.
Finish:
Long and dry, with a sharp mineral tension that promises excellent cellaring potential
Awards: Tim Atkin - 95 Points
