A striking single-varietal expression from Donovan Rall, the 2024 Rall Grenache Noir offers a refined, terroir-driven taste of Paardeberg’s ancient soils. Crafted in tiny batches with meticulous whole-bunch fermentation and aged in seasoned 300 L barrels, it's a pure and polished reflection of South Africa’s coolest vintage yet.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Red and dark cherry aromas dominate, layered with delicate hibiscus florals and violet petals—underscored by a fine hint of spice and gentle meatiness .
Palate: Medium-bodied with energising freshness, showcasing tart raspberry, plum skin, and subtly dry white pepper. A graceful structure with polished tannins and lingering savoury nuance.
Finish: Crisp and persistent—marked by tart cherry, a touch of cocoa, and a whisper of fynbos herbs, leaving a clean mouth-watering impression.
Serving Suggestions: Chill slightly (14–16 °C) and serve in a tulip-shaped red glass. Harmonises beautifully with lamb cutlets, duck breast, mushroom pasta, charcuterie, game birds, or creamy cheeses like Brie and Camembert.
