Mother Rock ‘The Building Blocks’ Red 2024

A high-altitude red blend from Johan “Stompie” Meyer's own organically certified Platteklip vineyards in Piket-Bo-Berg, northern Swartland, around 650–700 metres up and only about 35km from the Atlantic. Cool nights and coastal winds give it a fresher character than most Swartland reds.

The 2024 is 50% Grenache Noir, 25% Pinot Noir and 25% Mourvèdre, about 80% whole bunch, spontaneously fermented, aged in neutral French oak and then in concrete. It is also the last vintage of The Building Blocks to include Pinot Noir.
