The Le Lude Brut Réserve Non-Vintage is an elegant Méthode Cap Classique from acclaimed Franschhoek sparkling wine specialist Le Lude. Created as one of the estate’s signature house-style wines, it blends 69% Chardonnay with 31% Pinot Noir, bringing together freshness, finesse and fine-boned structure.

Rather than sourcing from a single site, Le Lude selects fruit from vineyards across Robertson, Bonnievale and Franschhoek, allowing the winemaking team to build complexity while maintaining a consistent house style from release to release.

Crucially, this is made using the traditional bottle-fermentation method and spends a minimum of 36 months ageing on its lees before disgorgement. It then receives an additional four months under cork before release, giving the wine greater integration and refinement.

The result is a beautifully polished South African sparkling wine: fresh citrus and white fruit upfront, fine persistent bubbles through the palate and a bright, mineral finish.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Pale straw-gold with fine, persistent streams of pearlescent bubbles and an elegant mousse.

Nose: Fresh and precise, opening with citrus and lime, followed by delicate white-fruit aromas. Subtle orchard-fruit and mineral notes add further complexity without sacrificing the wine’s vibrant character.

Palate: Crisp and beautifully balanced. Fresh white peach and Granny Smith apple are carried by lively acidity and a fine, persistent mousse. Chardonnay contributes freshness and precision, while Pinot Noir provides additional structure and depth.

Finish: Clean, bright and mineral-driven, with refreshing acidity and lingering citrus and green-apple freshness.
