Domaine de la Grosse Pierre Chiroubles ‘La Grosse Pierre’ 2022

An expressive 100% Gamay from Chiroubles, one of Beaujolais's ten crus. Pauline Passot, the third generation of her family at the domaine, makes it from around 50-year-old vines at about 350 metres on deep decomposed granite.

Winemaking is hands-off: whole bunches, indigenous yeasts, semi-carbonic fermentation and very gentle extraction, then about eight months in steel and concrete before bottling unfined and unfiltered. Juicy and charming, with the structure and minerality of proper cru Beaujolais.
