Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva Red 2021

A benchmark Rioja Reserva from Bodegas Muga in Haro's historic Barrio de la Estación. Tempranillo leads, with Garnacha Tinta, Mazuelo and Graciano.

Muga is one of the few wineries with its own cooperage. The 2021 was fermented in wooden vats, aged 24 months in oak (80% French, 20% American), then at least 12 months in bottle. Generous fruit, savoury complexity and polished oak, with real freshness. A highly regarded vintage, and superb with lamb.
