BLANKbottle Luuks 2024

Derived from the Afrikaans word for “luxury,” Luuks is BLANKbottle’s flagship single-vineyard Chardonnay, now in its fourth vintage. Sourced from a cool-climate site on the Helderberg foothills (Stellenbosch, Coastal Region), this restrained yet richly textured wine expresses pure varietal character and refined oak influence.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Pale straw with luminous gold highlights.

Nose: Elegant and layered—white acacia flower, clotted cream, baked pear, and gentle baked apple, followed by buttered toast, light cinnamon, and soft spicy oak.

Palate: Medium-bodied and structured; honeyed orchard fruit (golden apple, apricot) melds with toasted brioche, warm ginger, and fine lees texture. A stony mineral spine drives balance and length.

Finish: Clean, rounded, and lasting—creamy yet fresh, with a flourish of citrus and elegant oak spice.

Varietal: 100 % Chardonnay – single vineyard, Helderberg foothills (organic site).

Vintage: 2024 (fourth release)

Vinification: Whole-bunch pressed, spontaneous fermentation in a combination of old and new French oak barrels, aged on lees for ~10 months.

Production: Extremely limited—approximately 1,800 bottles produced per vintage .
