Benriach 25 Year Old 2000 (Cask #25632) – Cask Strength Collection from Signatory

The Benriach 25 Year Old 2000 (Cask #25632) is an exceptional single-cask release from Signatory Vintage's prestigious Symington's Choice Cask Strength Collection. Distilled on 24 May 2000 and bottled after a full 25 years of maturation, this rare Speyside single malt was drawn from a single Oloroso sherry butt, producing just 450 individually numbered bottles worldwide. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 60.2% ABV, it is presented without chill filtration or added colouring, allowing the whisky to express its character exactly as it matured in the cask.

The extended maturation has created a beautifully rich and deeply sherried Benriach, balancing luxurious dried fruit, dark chocolate and warming spice with the distillery's naturally fruity spirit. Personally selected by Andrew Symington for the Symington's Choice range, this bottling represents one of the finest examples of mature independent Benriach available today.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Deep mahogany with rich ruby highlights.

Nose: Luxurious aromas of raisins, dates and black cherries mingle with orange zest, cocoa powder and roasted hazelnuts. Layers of polished oak, espresso and warming baking spices continue to unfold with time in the glass.

Palate: Full-bodied, oily and remarkably concentrated. Rich sherry sweetness introduces flavours of figs, dried fruits and dark toffee before evolving into dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans and toasted almonds. The high natural strength brings notes of cinnamon, clove and black pepper, while the Benriach spirit remains elegant beneath the powerful sherry influence.

Finish: Exceptionally long and warming with lingering notes of cocoa, dried fruit, polished oak, nutmeg and rich Oloroso sweetness.
