Jaguar Shark from Cape Town’s Afro Caribbean Brewing Company is a Hazy Pale Ale built around two seriously expressive hops: Citra and Nelson Sauvin.
At just 4.4% ABV, this is firmly in the easy-drinking camp, but ACBC haven't exactly been shy with the hops. A hefty dry-hop delivers loads of tropical fruit alongside the distinctive white grape and vinous character Nelson Sauvin is famous for.
Hazy, juicy, tropical and only 14 IBUs. Basically, all the fun of a big hazy without needing a nap afterwards.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Hazy pale gold with a soft white head.
Nose: Bursting with tropical fruit, citrus and ripe stone fruit, alongside distinctive white grape and slightly vinous aromas from the Nelson Sauvin.
Palate: Soft and juicy with tropical fruit, citrus and white grape flavours upfront. Rolled oats and wheat help give the beer a smooth, rounded mouthfeel, while the relatively low bitterness keeps things extremely approachable.
Finish: Fresh, fruity and lightly bitter with lingering citrus, tropical fruit and Sauvignon Blanc-like grape notes.
