Midlife Crisis Hoppy Lager

Mid Life Crisis from Cape Town’s Afro Caribbean Brewing Company is a Hoppy Lager for anyone who wants the crisp refreshment of a lager but isn't quite ready to give up their hop addiction.

At 4.7% ABV, it stays light and highly drinkable, while a combination of Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo and Citra brings considerably more hop character than you'd expect from your average lager. Expect citrus, pine and juicy hop aromatics sitting over a clean, crisp malt base, backed by a respectable 39 IBUs of bitterness.

It's a midlife crisis that doesn't require financing a sports car. Much more sensible.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Bright pale gold with a lively white head.

Nose: Punchy citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit with hints of pine and fresh hops.

Palate: Crisp and refreshing with a clean malt backbone allowing Mosaic and Citra to do most of the talking. Citrus and tropical fruit lead into piney hop character and a noticeable but well-integrated bitterness.

Finish: Bright, dry and refreshing with lingering citrus, pine and a pleasantly bitter hop snap.
